Planning an Ibiza and Mallorca Trip: Nights Out & Slow Days

A two-island trip works best when the practical details are as deliberate as the nights out. This suggested nine-day plan gives you four nights in Ibiza and four in Mallorca, with a flexible transfer day in the middle.

01

Start with the experiences you care about

Decide whether the trip is mainly about nightlife, beaches, food or a mixture. Choose your travel dates after checking any specific event you want to attend with the organiser. Events, opening periods and transport availability are date-dependent. Do not assume that an experience mentioned in an inspiration list runs throughout the year.

02

Give Ibiza four nights, not four packed days

Keep the arrival evening easy. If you plan a late night, leave the following morning free and avoid a prepaid early departure. Spread the rest of the stay between an activity you care about and slower exploring. Confirm how you will get back to your accommodation at night before choosing a place to stay.

03

Make the island transfer a proper travel day

Check available ferry or flight options for your dates directly with a provider. Confirm the exact ports or airports, luggage allowance, check-in requirements and onward transfer. A connection shown on a map is not a confirmed sailing or flight. Avoid putting a non-refundable activity immediately after arrival, and check disruption and cancellation terms.

04

Use Mallorca for a change of pace

For a city-focused stay, the route preview uses Palma as the base. If your priority is a different part of the island, choose accommodation and transport around that instead. Plan a mixture of relaxed days and one or two outings. A car may offer flexibility, but check parking, deposits and rental conditions rather than assuming it is always necessary.

05

Keep the plan honest

Add the cost of transfers, event tickets and luggage to the budget, not just your room and headline fare. Check group coverage on every booking. The itinerary preview helps organise your ideas; it does not include event admission or guarantee transport inventory. Always use the supplier confirmation as the record of a completed booking.

06

Choose your base before your room

Write down where you expect to spend your evenings and how you will get back. A room that looks cheaper may add repeated transfers. If your group wants different things, agree whether a shared base matters more than everyone being close to their favourite activity.

07

Build in a genuinely quiet day

After a late night, leave breakfast and the morning unbooked. A flexible beach outing or a leisurely meal is easier to enjoy than a fixed early pickup. In Mallorca, Palma offers an old-town and cultural alternative to another beach day; use the official island guide to narrow down what suits your group.

One last check

Before you book

  • Check event dates with the organiser before committing to travel.
  • Confirm whether an island connection actually runs on your date.
  • Budget for late-night transfers as well as tickets.
  • Keep day 5 and post-event mornings flexible.

A few useful answers

Can we assume there is a direct ferry on our day?

No. Check the route, operating date, port and boarding conditions with the provider before booking surrounding plans. This suggested itinerary is not a sailing timetable.

Is Palma the only place to stay in Mallorca?

No. It is the base used in this route suggestion. Choose a different area if beaches, scenery or a particular event matters more, then check transport and travel times accordingly.
